In celebration of LatinX & Hispanic Heritage Month, the Gatton Student Center is proudly adorned with vibrant flags representing the diverse countries and cultures of the Hispanic community. From September 15 to October 15, employee and student spotlights will rotate throughout the center, highlighting inspiring stories and contributions from members of the community.

In light of the observance, we would like to give special thanks to our supporting departments, Martin Luther King (MLK) Center, CARES First Generation, the Office for LGBTQ* Resources, the Latino Student Union, and Gatton Student Center Auxiliary Services. Because of their efforts, the building has been energized by engaging activities such as scavenger hunts, authentic dining experiences, and interactive events celebrating Hispanic heritage.

Did you know that Hispanic Americans make up over 18% of the U.S. population, bringing a rich blend of traditions, from music and dance to culinary arts, that have become an integral part of American culture? These efforts at Gatton are a true embrace of the diversity and unity that LatinX heritage brings to our campus!
