At the University of Kentucky, diversity is valued, inclusion is imperative, and belonging is foundational. By signing the Safe pledge, wearing a Safe badge, and displaying an electronic Safe badge in your email signature, you are conveying your commitment to these ideas and announcing your commitment to share a safe space with your colleagues through tangible action.

What Does it Mean to be a Safe Person?

Below you will find educational resources to help you elevate yourself and your commitment in being a Safe person for the LGBTQ+ community. Provided is a presentation to help you understand how you can step up and take action when needed to protect your fellow colleagues and students. We have also provided a term guide to help you understand the variety of different lifestyles that you may encounter by being a Safe person.

Thank you for taking a step towards creating an inclusive and welcoming environment.
